These Change-a-Word Word Circles will be great to use as a whole group at the beginning of the year for my 1st graders. They would also work well towards the middle or end of the year for students to complete individually. Click on the image below for the FREE download.
I’d love to know what you think and if you’d find these useful in your classroom 🙂
Oh I LOVE this! I will be trying this with my little girl!! Thank you!! You are AWESOME!!

These word circles are great! I will definitely use this in my class with whole group instruction and maybe even as independent practice. Thanks for your hard work!
These will be great to add to my Harcourt phonics flipcaharts I use with the Promethian Board. The kids always seem to like a good riddle. Thanks for sharing!

I think these will be great to use with my advanced kindergarten students.
I LOVE this! What a great way to get kids thinking about how they can change one letter of a word to make another word. I am going to use this on my Smartboard! Thank you!

Jodi,
These are great! I think they would work particularly well during the fall.
A little later in the year, I use this Word Ladder Book from Scholastic for morning work:
http://www.amazon.com/Daily-Word-Ladders-Grades-2-3/dp/0439513839
They BEG me to do work ladders- they love them! I allowed them to work in groups and that really helped with the ones who could not read all the clues. The book that I had was actually made for 2-3 grade, but we started it after Christmas break and they did really well with it. I think what you have created would get them used to the feel of word ladders.
Great post! I'd love to see more! 🙂

Cute!!This would go great in my word work centers! One thing you could add if it would go in an independent center would be words they could cut out, glue to the page, then write the word. I have a short vowel game posted on my blog and http://www.thebestofteacherspayteachers.blogspot.com that would go great with this too!
I'm totally going to use this on Monday or Tuesday with my summer school kiddos. Thanks for sharing!

These look great for the beginning of the year! Thanks for sharing!!
I've used these for my summer school class and my students L.O.V.E. them!! We do it whole group as a 10 minute filler when we have extra time. They love reading the clues and figuring out what the next word is going to be. Thanks SO much for sharing these!!
