My Classroom Reveal and Astrobrights Colorize Your Classroom Contest

The school year is in full swing.  In fact, we have been in school for over a month now.  I wanted to share with you some pictures of how I use color in my classroom, and then give YOU a chance to WIN a full box of Astrobrights paper.  (Trust me…it’s a LOT of paper.)

Classroom RevealI love using bright colors in my classroom.  Color makes me happy, so when I am decorating a space that I am going to spend the majority of my daytime hours in, of course, I want it to be inviting.

I have included affiliate links in this post and I receive a small commission each time someone makes a purchase through one of my links. All opinions are my own, and I only promote brands and products that I love.

Welcome to My Classroom

Classroom DoorI love my classroom door this year.  I used blue painters tape to make the lines. Then, I cut letters out using my Cricut Explore.  For the pencil, I had a local copy shop enlarge a clipart image for me.

Bulletin Boards

Fun in First Bulletin BoardThis bulletin board is on the outside hallway before coming into my classroom.  I loved using the bright Astrobrights paper and my Cricut  to cut out the letters for my board.  I also added some bright tissue paper pompons from Hobby Lobby.

slide2The bulletin board above is in my classroom.  It’s a huge board that runs from the ceiling to the floor.  I covered it in pink wrapping paper two years ago, and it still hasn’t faded.  I take pictures of my students to post on this board.  Then, they write their names on sentence strips to staple underneath their pictures.  This is a board that stays up all year because the students love using their classmates names in their writing.

 My Teacher’s Desk

Teacher's DeskI don’t have the easiest last name to spell, so I always make sure that my name is displayed somewhere in my classroom.  I made this banner using Astrobrights paper and ribbon.  I printed a letter onto each page of cardstock, then I cut a triangle out of the bottom of each page.  I punched holes into the tops of the paper and strung it on ribbon.  Such an easy and bright decoration.

The colors of paper I used were: Cosmic Orange™, Sunburst Yellow™, Martian Green™, Gamma Green™, Lunar Blue™, Gravity Grape™, Fireball Fuchsia™, Celestial Blue™, and Re-Entry Red™.

Classroom Library

slide4I finally purchased some new tubs from Lakeshore Learning.  My old ones were from Big Lots and after a couple years of use, they were needing to be replaced.  Using Maria’s labels, the classroom library is super organized this year.

slide3Other Areas of my Classroom

slide7This is the side of an ugly, brown metal vent.  It was a huge eyesore in my classroom.  I used chalkboard contact paper to cover the side of it, and then covered it with character words.  This is a FREE download in my store.

slide8I cut circles out of lime green and pink vinyl to place on my guided reading table.  The students can use these as dry erase boards during small group instruction.

slide6This is my calendar area.  Wrapping paper to the rescue again.  This polka dotted wrapping paper from Hobby Lobby has lasted for two years without fading.

slide2I have a string attached to my ceiling to display student work using clothespins.  I printed these signs on Astrobrights paper to display for back to school.

Slide1My station board area is bright and colorful using Astrobrights cardstock to display students names.  Again, shout out to the pink wrapping paper!
