I’m back…I feel like I haven’t posted in awhile, but I unfortunately I had some computer issues 🙁 My computer started getting slower and slower and then last weekend, it pretty much gave up on me. I took it to the computer repair guy and he said it was full of viruses! He cleaned it off and I’m good as new now!!!
Last year, I posted a September 11th freebie that I wanted to update for you.
If you pin the picture above, you may want to get rid of “Fun in First” in the description box. I have been getting comments on this pin like, “How was September 11th fun?!” Seriously? It’s the name of my blog…September 11th was NOT fun!
This week, my students started their 1st grade homework! I love how 1st graders want homework {at least at the beginning of the year.} I have a Parent Communication Binder for each of my students. This year I have a STAR Book.
I purchase 3 ring binders and page protectors from Sam’s Club every year for these. {You can find other theme’s here.}
I place a pencil bag in each one for parents to send in lunch money, field trip money, or other important things to school.
Then I place all of the other pages in page protectors.
I include paper for parent communication.
Finally, I three hole punch a folder for homework. I love these folders from Really Good Stuff.
Each week, I hole punch their spelling words and Weekly Focus sheet for their binders. I send home homework Monday-Thursday. We use Everyday Math, so I send home the Math Homelink as well as a spelling practice page from my Spelling Unit.
On Monday’s, I also send home an activity from my Learn with Me packet. These are “just for fun” activities and do not need to be returned.
Every morning, the students return their STAR books. If they complete their homework, they get a sticker on their chart above their cubbies.
If you give homework in your classroom, how do you handle it?
