Can you believe it’s almost 2015?  I mean, seriously, where did this year go??
I think this year, my word is content. It seems like an odd choice, but with so many changes for me this year, I think it’s a good fit.  We have been looking at buying a new house for over 5 years…this year we finally did and we moved in the day before school started.  We had been hoping to add to our family for over a year, and this year it finally happened.  We welcomed our baby boy in November.  I also had been thinking of transferring schools and this year things just fell into place.  A 1st grade position became available in the same school district as our new house.  New baby, new house, new job…a little overwhelming, but so worth it!
I don’t have any BIG dramatic goals for the year, so my main goal is just to be able to find balance in my life.  I want to find a way to balance family, teaching, blogging, Teachers Pay Teachers, fitness, etc.  Ok…easier said than done.
Enough said.

 

Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that I would have presented for SDE at I Teach 1st.  It was so far out of my comfort zone, but also a lot of fun!I liked this post about reading.

 I tend to prefer the funny pins.  Here are some of my favorites.
 My sweet friend, Mary, from Sharing Kindergarten, has the biggest heart.  She was checking on the new baby and me and I mentioned that he had reflux and wasn’t sleeping well.  Two days later, this shows up at my door.  This Rock and Play has been a lifesaver at night!
 He has given me a 4-5 hour stretch of sleep each night since.  A huge improvement from 1-2 hours.
I kept trying to think of something for this one and couldn’t. My friend, Marsha from A Differentiated Kindergarten reminded me that this year I tried something new…raising a boy.  LOL!  It will definitely be a huge change from my two girls!
When we were in Las Vegas this summer, we ate at Sushi Samba at The Venetian.  I think it was some of the most amazing food I’ve ever had.  I can’t wait to eat there again this summer!
I am still obsessed with Scandal!
I just started watching Sons of Anarchy on Netflix last week and it’s pretty dang addicting too.
I actually cannot think of a movie that I watched this year.  I do want to go see Unbroken though.  The book was absolutely amazing!
Well, this year my wardrobe has consisted of maternity clothes and then yoga pants or pj’s since being home on maternity leave.  So that isn’t too exciting.  I have had an obsession lately with The Mint Julep Boutique.  I recently ordered this super comfy tunic from there.

    I also LOVED eating in Vegas, esp the goat cheese stuff!

  3. Oh that was SO sweet of Mary to send you a rock & play! Vegas was definitely one of my favorite memories of the year. I am so happy I finally got to meet you IRL! Also, I'm a total Scandal addict with you.
