Well..Hello There!

Well…hello again!  It’s been awhile!  I do have a good excuse though.

My girls just had to get some pictures with “silly faces” too.
I don’t do the beginning of pregnancy well.  I am always best friends with the bathroom and the couch.  I plan my meals by thinking what won’t taste too bad when it comes back up.  Thankfully, I am starting to feel better though and I wanted to share some of the things that we have been working on the last couple of weeks.
We reviewed our bossy R’s last week with my new Bossy R Word Work packet.

Click on the picture above to check it out on Teachers Pay Teachers.
We also reviewed the dipthongs ou & ow with one of my favorite lessons.
I wrapped my head in gauze when the students came back from Music.  I tell the students that they are going to need to use inferences and predict what has happened to me, while using “ou/ow” words.
I hang clues around the classroom.
Each clue contains “ou/ow” words that we keep track of while we make our predictions.  The students have to draw or write down their prediction on the included recording sheet after each clue is revealed.
At the end, they learn the whole story.
It really is fun listening to all of their creative predictions.  I have done this for the past three years and I think this group came up with the most creative and unique ways for me to get hurt. Is that good or bad? Lol!
You can find this lesson on TpT HERE.
I also found this super cute idea to review adjectives from The First Grade Fairy Tales.

We sorted through index cards that I had created prior to the lesson to decide if they were adjectives, nouns, or verbs.  Then the students used the adjectives to describe themselves.  They loved it.
I am currently working on my May No Prep Games packet and hope to have it finished today or tomorrow.

  1. Congrats on your pregnancy! The bathroom was my best friend too 🙂 Praying it stays away during my 3rd trimester! I heard it can come back! Hopefully not! 🙂

  2. Congratulations! When I was pregnant I was like that I think I lived off applesauce, apple juice and toast for a few weeks. I hope you start to feel better soon!!
